Grand opening day for Debra Morrow’s website drew scant attention. It was speculated that her being an unpublished author dampened enthusiasm.
Morrow created the site to announce Smudge Finds Her Spot in Life, a children’s story about a cat teased for being different. But because it was her first step into the author arena, few visitors showed up.
“That’s OK. I planned it as a soft opening anyway and didn’t expect much fanfare,” Morrow said. “My goal was to launch an author’s site so I can start sharing Smudge Finds Her Spot in Life with agents and publishers. I’m thrilled to start making connections so children know it’s all right to be different and that they should celebrate who they are instead of trying to be someone else.”
